Coastal Legacy Reimagined

This oceanfront home project stands out for its rich history and the meaningful continuity between its original 1980s design and its 2016 transformation. First commissioned in 1985 by IBM executive Frances “Buck” Rodgers, the home was shaped by his customer-first philosophy, an approach the firm embraced and carried forward.

Three decades later, a new family returned to the firm to reimagine the residence as a relaxed, British West Indies–style seaside cottage, expanding it significantly while preserving its coastal character. The renovation nearly doubled the home’s size by converting the previously unused lower level into functional living space, including a game room, mud room, exercise area, and storage. Key design highlights include the open, cottage-style living, dining, and kitchen area featuring warm textural finishes, as well as an elevated oceanfront pool with a stone deck that seamlessly draws the eye toward the water, creating an inviting, family-centered retreat that honors both past and present.
